"One of the Best Beginner DVD’s"

Kim is very motivating. Yes, she’s perky. But she really addresses the mental part of weight loss and getting fit, and she’s constantly reminding you to think positively and love yourself. It’s really one of the best beginners’ DVDs I’ve reviewed. The choreography is simple (as it should be for newbies), you only need dumbbells, you have DVDs to progress to as you get more fit, and its fun, and she knows her stuff.

"Good Workout for the Whole Body"

★★★★☆

I'm not really a beginner, although I'm not very advanced either because I stick to walking style workouts like Leslie Sansone and Debbie Rocker. I got Kim Lyons' series for the focus on Type 2 Diabetes (which I have) and because I wanted to do more upper body conditioning. I noticed on the preview (thank you Collage for the previews!) that each workout had a toning segment. The first two workouts are a little too easy for me and I probably won't do them again, although they would be great for someone who has never exercised or who has not exercised for many years. I really like Workout 3 & 4 for the seated upper body weight training and Workout 5 & 6 does standing upper body and lower body conditioning. I like it because when I get stronger, I can easily increase the weight of the dumbbells I use. I only have one complaint and that is the music is the same in each segment(warm up, toning, cardio, cool down) in all 6 of the workouts… Overall though I like the workouts and the Type 2 Diabetes Bonus Segment with Dr. Singh was informative.
